In the documentary “American Crystal Sugar Company—Beet Harvest Road Peril,” Insider Exclusive presents the case of our client Dan Rassat. Dan was seriously injured during the pre-dawn hours of October 17, 2007, when he and a group of friends were driving on State Highway 5 through North Dakota on a duck hunting trip. They ran into the back of a semi near the entrance to the ACS Hamilton beet piling station due to the poor conditions on the road.
The back of the semi was so obscured with mud that its taillights and reflectors were invisible. Dan sustained serious injuries, including multiple tears of his small and large intestines, and a fractured L3 vertebra. He was rushed to the hospital in Fargo, ND, for immediate surgery. In the documentary “Left to Die...The Real Seth Hanson Story,” Insider Exclusive meets with Stephen Gabrielson who successfully represented Seth Hanson’s family in their wrongful death claim. On December 8, 2007, Seth Hanson and three of his friends were out for a night of fun leading to a car race and subsequent car accident that killed Seth Hanson. The wind chill temperature that night was -14 degrees below zero. Seth had been thrown from the car, was seriously injured, and was lying in the freezing snow and ice. By the time Seth was taken to the hospital his body core temperature had dropped to 75 degrees; he later died from internal injuries and exposure.
